Important Doctor Subscriptions Pricing Changes

When Medicai first launched, we felt it was our responsibility to help doctors and chronically ill patients with their most dire needs, like collaboration, time, and cost-saving options. In the face of Covid-19, that mission seemed even more urgent. To that end, Medicai offered our paid 20GB storage plan for free to all doctors, in the hope that it would help them better serve their patients during a health crisis. We’ve also grown our business a lot, and we now have more than 30 clinics and hospitals, 1500 doctors, and 800 patients in our network, and we’re onboarding new clients every day.

As things have taken a turn for the better in recent months, it's time to update our subscription plans:

  • Starting June 1, 2021, all new users will be included on the Starter plan with 2 GB free storage.
  • Starting July 1, 2021, subscription pricing plans will be updated for all present and future users.

Our will subscriptions will be the following:

  • Starter: 2GB of free storage (~10 patients*)
  • Professional: 20GB (~100 patients*) of storage for €39/month
  • Premium: 100GB (~500 patients*) of storage for €79/month
  • If you need more than 100GB, you can contact us, and we’ll make sure to help you

*The storage is based on the size of all imaging investigations and documents stored in your account. The actual patient number can and may differ. This is just a rough estimation of how many patient investigations can be included in the storage size.

We will also be offering annual subscriptions for each of the paid plans, and we will offer a 10% discount.

In the following weeks, we will also offer support articles and frequent updates on our website and blog.

It’s important to note that all this information applies to doctor accounts. We will also be implementing custom subscriptions and online payments for our enterprise clients, but these will be handled on a per-case basis. The patient account will remain free.

Below is a list of FAQs that we think will be helpful. If you'd like additional information, we're happy to help! Please contact us via live chat or our contact support page.

What will the doctor subscription plans include?

All plans will include the following features:

  • online DICOM viewer
  • online viewer for medical documents
  • unlimited collaborators on patient cases
  • receive patient investigations directly to your Medicai account through the public page
  • real-time chat with doctors on cases
  • request payments from your patients (needs validation)
  • one account - multiple workspaces
  • secure environment

From the date of the launch, all paid users and existing ones will also be able to use the video call feature for up to 4 participants.

Some of the things that we are currently working on and will include on all paid plans are:

  • Doctors and clinics public community
  • Doctor and clinic social profiles
  • Patient communication directly in Medicai
  • Share cases more easily & public cases
  • Take notes, sign documents
  • And many more to come

What will happen to existing doctor accounts?

Because we want to thank our current users for helping us grow, all existing doctor accounts will still benefit from the 20GB of storage we offered for free a year ago, and we will also include the video call feature (for up to 4 participants) for free.

What happens after I exceed my plan storage?

Exceeding the subscription plan storage will have minimal impact on your activity. You will still be able to access all cases, communication, video call feature (if you have a paid plan or an older free upgraded plan), request payments, collaborate with unlimited doctors, create new cases, upload new documents and investigations, and many more.

The account limitation regarding storage only applies to older imaging investigations that exceed the plan limit. So, for example, if I have reached exactly 20GB of investigations in my account, and I upload one more investigation, only the older investigations that cannot be included in the plan limit will not be accessible to you— not being accessible means that you will not be able to open it with the DICOM viewer. The investigations that exceed the plan storage limit will not be deleted, they still belong to you, and you will be able to access them once you upgrade your storage plan.

The idea of this account limitation is to allow you to work uninterrupted even when exceeding the storage limit, and it only applies to the oldest imaging investigations.

Can I change my subscription?

Yes. In order to change your subscription, you can visit your account settings and choose the Subscriptions tab. Here you will be able to view your existing subscription and choose to downgrade or upgrade it. If you want a custom subscription with a custom storage plan, just contact us, and we’ll do our best to help you.

What are the payment options?

You can pay for a subscription directly in Medicai with a credit or debit card. You can also set up recurring payments and forget about manual monthly payments. All online payments are secure, and we do not store any sensitive information in Medicai. Everything is handled by our payments supplier, Stripe Inc.. You can find more details about Stripe on their website: stripe.com.

What currencies do you accept?

Although all subscriptions are displayed in EURO, you can pay almost in any other currency. Our system will convert the subscription price to your local (card) currency. Also, all prices include VAT.

Will I receive an invoice for my payment?

Yes. All invoices will be generated by Stripe, and you will be able to download them from your account. You can also add company details on the invoice if you want to.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time, and the subscription will still be active until the end of the current subscription period. If you decide to change your subscription, you will also benefit from the remaining credit from the remaining active period.

How do you handle refunds?

If you want to make a refund request, you will need to contact our support team, and we will try to help you. Terms and conditions apply for all payment refunds.
